Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson usually keeps social and political issues out of his social media accounts but his recent post on his social media accounts make it clear that he is bothered by the lack of leadership in the United States while protests and riots continue around the country.
The video starts with Johnson asking, “Where are you? Where is our leader? Where are you? Where’s our leader at this time when our country is down on its knees begging, pleading, hurt, angry, frustrated, in pain, begging and pleading with its arms out just wanting to be heard? Begging and pleading for change? Where are you? Where is our compassionate leader? …”
He also called on Trump to address the country and added that “of course All Lives Matter” but in these moments right now while this country is down on its knees, we must say the words “Black Lives Matter.”
Johnson also addressed the looters and people destroying cities but also addressed Trump’s decision to have the military deployed on peaceful protestors.
He said a lot more in the video and I encourage everyone who reads this to watch and listen to his message.
Johnson added the following caption:
“Our country is crippled and on its knees, begging to be heard and pleading for change.
Where is our compassionate leader?
The leader who unifies and inspires our country at our most painful time when we need it the most.
The leader who steps up and takes full accountability for our country and embraces every color in it.
The leader who picks our country up off its knees and says you have my word – we got this – and together, change will happen.
Where are you?
Because we’re all here.
Maybe one day that galvanizing leader will emerge.
Either way, the process to change has already begun.
